The Willows is proud to welcome our new Interim Executive Director, Shelley L. Kobuck, PhD.

Dr. Kobuck, a native of Tyrone, PA, has an impressive background and range of experience. With more than 25 years of experience in geriatrics, long-term care, and post-acute care, she oversaw up to 16 facilities and 3,000 residents.
She earned her PhD in Healthcare Ethics from Duquesne University in 2015 and has presented her research pertaining to long-term care in Paris, France and Gottingen, Germany. Additionally, she was selected to attend the Ethics Teachers’ Training Course with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
Dr. Kobuck conducted post-doctoral research at Duquesne University, where she served as its Scholar-in-Residence.
She applies her extensive knowledge and experience as Co-Leader of the Business Work Group and Medical Ethicist of the task force for the development of the Wellness and Lifestyle Medical Tourism Pilot Program in Croatia. Dr. Kobuck has served as a medical ethicist for Forbes Regional Hospital’s Ethics Committee since 2016. She has also served on Duquesne University’s Board of Directors and Alumni Governing Board.
Dr. Kobuck has demonstrated a passion for the long-term care industry and dedication to the well-being of residents. Her devotion and expertise make her an excellent addition the Willows’ community.
